Prosecutors have demanded a prison sentence for Lim Chang-yong (49), a former member of the "Legend 40" who was accused of not paying back gambling funds after borrowing them. 먹튀검증
According to the "News 1" report on the 21st, Senior Judge Kim Sung-joon of the Gwangju District Court's Criminal Chamber 11 held a final hearing on Lim Chang-yong, who was accused of fraud, and ended the pleading process.
Lim Chang-yong was indicted on charges of borrowing 150 million won worth of money from A at a hotel in the Philippines in December 2019 and not paying back 80 million won of them.
Mr. A sued Lim, saying that he borrowed 150 million won in cash for casino gambling and paid back only 70 million won.
Lim Chang-yong, on the other hand, claimed, "It is true that we borrowed money for gambling, but it was a gambling chip, not cash, and the amount itself was only 70 million won, not 150 million won, so we reimbursed them all."
The prosecution demanded a year and a half in prison for Lim Chang-yong, saying, "Please consider that the defendant is not reflecting on the crime by reversing his statement."
Lim Chang-yong's lawyer said, "The victim was not in a situation where he could lend 150 million won (approx. The victim's statement that he lent the money has no credibility at all. Repayment has been completed and fraud charges cannot be admitted."
Lim Chang-yong made a final statement, saying, "It is the same as the lawyer's opinion." The court will hold a sentencing hearing for Lim at the Gwangju District Court at 2 p.m. on March 27.
